Its development emerged from experimentation and empirical research.<\/p><h3><strong>What are \u2018behavioural problems\u2019?<\/strong><\/h3><p>Behavioural problems are seen as a result of conditioning from one\u2019s environment, and are therefore \u2018learned\u2019.<\/p><p>The essential goal is \u2018to increase adaptive behaviour through reinforcement and to decrease maladaptive behaviour through extinction\u2019, which is referred to as <strong>behaviour modification<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p><p>Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) measures environmental variables that affect learning, in view of planning behavioural change.
